In the last years an important awareness in environmental policy has been experienced but the pollution by bad odours continues being a non-solved problem. There are numerous complaints of neighbouring populations to determined industries, waste-water treatment facilities, urban waste dumps, etc., due to the odours that these activities are generating. In this sense, the olfactometry appears as a very effective implemental for the odour study and control.

What is this?

The olfactometry is a standardized technique that allows to establish a relation between the possible origins of the bad scents (generation and emission) and its repercussion in the surroundings (immission), allowing to objectify the incidence of the odours and to establish the necessary corrective actions to take for its elimination or minimization.

In this sense, the olfactometry studies prove a very effective implemental for the solution of odour pollution problems.
